What is the free AI visibility report?

It is a live scan of how AI engines talk about your brand. You enter a website, we read the site and robots.txt, then ask ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity the kinds of questions a buyer would ask. You watch the answers come in, along with a score and a list of what to fix.

Which AI engines does the report check?

The scan queries ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Perplexity. It also checks whether crawlers from OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Meta, and ByteDance are allowed in your robots.txt.

How is the AI visibility score calculated?

The score combines six pillars: whether the engines mention you, how high you appear in the answer, how they talk about you, whether they cite your own domain, whether AI crawlers can reach the site, and basic readiness signals such as llms.txt and a sitemap. Pillars we cannot measure are left out and the rest is reweighted.

Is the report free, and do I need an account?

The scan is free and you do not need a Promptwatch account. We sometimes ask for an email before running the scan. You can still watch it run in the browser either way.

How long does a scan take?

About a minute. You stay on the page and watch crawler access, brand extraction, and live engine answers as they finish.

What if this website was already scanned?

If the same domain was scanned recently, we show that report instead of running a new one, so you get results immediately. Failed scans can be retried.

How is this different from Promptwatch?

Why does crawler access matter?

If GPTBot, ClaudeBot, or PerplexityBot are blocked in robots.txt, those engines cannot read your pages. The scan flags which crawlers are allowed so you can fix access before you spend time on content.
